I. Jian'an Deluge Alarm Valve (Stainless Steel) Product Features and Application Scope:

This deluge alarm valve (hereinafter referred to as the deluge valve) is a direct-sealing diaphragm valve with no shaft, metal valve disc, or other components inside, thus eliminating rust issues. It features durability, reliable performance, flexible installation, and easy maintenance. Widely used in various open systems (where the system-side pipeline is equipped with open sprinklers) such as deluge systems, water curtain systems, and water mist systems. This valve is manufactured in accordance with the GB5135.5-2003 standard. The Ex series uses explosion-proof solenoid valves, suitable for various locations with explosion-proof requirements. The P series is made of stainless steel with strong corrosion resistance.

The deluge valve, combined with various open sprinklers, forms a deluge system, also known as an open fire extinguishing system. Once the deluge valve is activated, all open sprinklers connected to it discharge water simultaneously. Therefore, the deluge system is suitable for high-risk locations where fires spread rapidly, and water discharge from closed sprinklers cannot effectively cover the fire area, as well as locations with excessively high spaces where closed sprinklers cannot activate promptly. Examples include stages, fireworks factories, and other severely hazardous locations (such as solvents, paints, asphalt, etc.).

Since the deluge system is a single-action area facility, it must be designed according to specifications. The protection range of one set of deluge valves must not exceed 260 m².

II. Jian'an Deluge Alarm Valve (Stainless Steel) Product Composition and Working Principle:

The deluge system consists of a deluge valve, water motor gong, pressure switch, fire detectors (electronic detectors, closed sprinklers), and fire extinguishing sprinklers (open, water mist, water curtain). It is suitable for high-risk locations where fires spread rapidly, such as stages, fireworks factories, and severely hazardous Grade II locations, including flammable liquids, spray coating operation areas, fixed flammable and combustible aerosol products, and solvent paint product factories. When the system is in the standby state, the deluge valve seals the fire water on the water supply side of the pipeline network, while the system-side pipeline network contains no water. The deluge valve can be activated by electric control, pilot tube control (wet or dry), or manual control. Users can choose the appropriate method based on local conditions.

The opening and closing of the deluge valve are controlled by the water pressure in the diaphragm chamber. When the water pressure in the diaphragm chamber equals the supply pressure, the diaphragm closes, preventing water from entering the system. When the solenoid valve is opened, the emergency manual quick-opening valve is operated by personnel, or a closed sprinkler activates, the water pressure in the diaphragm chamber drops to a certain value, causing the diaphragm chamber to be pushed open by the supply pressure, allowing water to enter the system-side pipeline network for fire extinguishing.

Electric Control: First, electronic detectors in the protected area send fire signals to the fire control center. The center processes the signals and then sends an activation signal to the solenoid valve on the deluge valve. The solenoid valve opens, depressurizing the diaphragm chamber, activating the deluge valve. Water flows from the supply side into the system pipeline network and is discharged through open sprinklers across the entire protected area to perform fire extinguishing.

Pilot Tube Control: The water pressure in the diaphragm chamber can also be controlled by a wet or dry pilot tube system, forming a wet (water) or dry (air) system. When a closed sprinkler activates, the pilot tube causes the water pressure in the diaphragm chamber to drop, opening the valve.

Manual Control: Generally used for debugging, testing, or emergencies.

This valve is equipped with an anti-reset device. Under proper operation, once the water pressure in the diaphragm chamber is released, regardless of whether the solenoid valve or manual quick-opening valve is closed again, the diaphragm pressure chamber cannot repressurize, and the valve remains open. This ensures that during fire extinguishing, the deluge valve does not close unexpectedly due to a power outage causing the solenoid valve to close. After the fire is extinguished, personnel must open the reset ball valve to repressurize the pressure chamber and close the valve.

III. Jian'an Deluge Alarm Valve (Stainless Steel) Main Technical Parameters:

1. Rated working pressure: 1.6 MPa

2. Seal test pressure: 3.2 MPa (valve disc open and closed states) 100% tested.

3. Solenoid valve: Activation power supply - DC24V, 12W; Ex series explosion-proof rating - ExmbI/II T4.

4. The deluge valve should be installed in an environment with temperatures above 4°C and below 70°C. The wet pilot tube operating environment temperature should be above 4°C and not higher than

IV. Jian'an Deluge Alarm Valve (Stainless Steel) Installation Notes:

a. Installation, debugging, and operation of the deluge valve assembly must be performed by qualified or experienced technical personnel. The manufacturer has already conducted a 2.4 MPa seal test on all pipelines fixed to the valve body. Users are strictly prohibited from disassembling and reassembling it themselves.

b. The system should be installed indoors with heating and good lighting, with approximately 0.5 m of space around it for installation and maintenance.

c. Control valves must be installed on both the water supply side and system side of the deluge valve for debugging and maintenance. Before installation, pipelines must be flushed according to construction specifications.

d. The deluge valve can be installed vertically or horizontally, but ensure the solenoid valve's magnetic core remains vertical during installation.

e. The reset ball valve (5) and emergency manual quick-opening valve (6) must be operated carefully to prevent losses.

f. As specified in the Automatic Sprinkler System Design Code (GB50084-2001), a filter valve must be installed before the inlet of the deluge valve to prevent leakage or false activation due to impurities in the water.

g. For multiple deluge valve assemblies installed in parallel, a check valve should be installed at the inlet of the deluge valve control chamber to prevent false activation.

V. Jian'an Deluge Alarm Valve (Stainless Steel) Debugging and Commissioning:

1. Pre-installation inspection: (Refer to Figures 1 and 2)

Step 1: Unpack the box and remove the deluge valve.

Step 2: Check for debris in the valve chamber and pipeline openings.

2. Adjustment: (Refer to Figures 1 and 2)

After installation, testing, or fire extinguishing, adjust the system to the standby state as follows:

Step 1: Close the system water supply control valve before the valve (configured separately in the pipeline network).

Step 2: Open the diaphragm chamber control valve on the deluge valve.

Step 3: Open the drain valve, alarm valve, and all auxiliary drain valves on the system to completely drain any remaining water from the system.

Step 4: Close the emergency manual quick-opening valve and test alarm ball valve on the deluge valve; open the reset ball valve; simultaneously close the control valve after the valve (configured separately in the pipeline network).

Step 5: Press the "Reset" button on the control panel to reset the electronic control system and close the solenoid valve.

Step 6: Supply water: Slowly open the system water supply control valve before the valve. When the indicated values on the supply pressure gauge and diaphragm chamber pressure gauge are the same, fully open the water supply control valve.

(During the opening process: Water will flow out from the 1/8-inch diameter pipe of the anti-reset device, which is normal. When the two pressure gauge readings stabilize completely, the water flow will stop.)

If a significant water flow continues from the anti-reset device or drip valve after 2-3 minutes, immediately close the main water supply control valve.

Possible causes of leakage: 1) Debris at the seal between the diaphragm and valve body; 2) Debris in the anti-reset device; 3) The diaphragm may be damaged and need replacement. After repair, repeat this step (refer to "Maintenance" for repairs).

Step 8: Close the drain valve, test alarm valve, and all auxiliary drain valves on the system. Ensure the reset ball valve is closed (to enable the anti-reset function). Open the alarm valve and the control valve after the valve. The system enters the standby state.
